I have a manual in my 91 Explorer. When I shift from 1st to 2nd I get a grind. This happens about once a month, doesn't matter whether I have been driving 20 min or 3 hours. It happens once, then doesn't happen again for a month or so.
I know the clutch is pushed in all the way, because I was real careful about that. Also, this usually happens when I am turning from a stop. One time this occurred in 4th.
I have recently (3000 miles) changed the transmission fluid...what could be wrong?
2nd gear synchro...clutch...etc.
I have 101,000 miles on original clutch and transmission.
