I'm pretty new to the whole aftermarket audio thing. At the moment I have two 12" subs that run at 4 ohms, 100 watt rms (300 watt peak). I was just wondering what size amplifier and how many channel amp I should get for them. Any help would be useful.

I'm guessing the subs are each 4 Ohms with 200W RMS. As long as they're single voice coil, you can run them in parallel, bringing the Ohm load to 2 Ohms on the amp. That means you only need to find a mono amp with 200W RMS at 2 Ohms. Should be pretty easy, the hard part will be finding one with that low of output actually. You can go over the RMS wattage with a mono amp, but make sure to keep the amp's levels down and volume down or you'll blow the subs.

Or you can get a 2 channel amp that puts out 100W @ 4 Ohms x2. The Profile AP600 is the specs you'd want, and its got a great price. 2 Year warranty if you buy it from Crutchfield too.

i think ample audio makes a good 330 watt mono amplifier or something like that. I pushed two jl w-1 12s with pretty good with a year warranty for 230 dollars or mtx amps are also pretty good and with a 3 year factory warranty you cant beat the price also. check around. and yes crutchfield is good too if you dont mind waiting.
