I really don't think it will blow up my truck, but what does it do ....... the Mystery Plug?

I had my dash apart, and I noticed this little plug that was plugged into a socket located behind the dash just between the steering wheel and the stereo. I'm assuming the socket is there to keep the plug from banging around behind the dash, but does anybody know what in the hell the plug is for??

Ford makes the wiring in bulk so if a option is not installed on your Explorer. It is cheaper to make one wiring then make 10 different wiring for same type of car. Also easier to repair cars from junk yards ect.

Yeah that makes sense, Ford in notorious for doing that. But what does this particular plug do/go to?

It may be for the luxury items not on your truck, but say for a limited or E.B. The only real way to check is to get a wiring diagram and trace them out unless you know someone who is a Ford tech and just knows from working on them.

Well I broke down and called my local Ford parts department. They said exactly what Kris said. He did mention day-time running lights as a possibility. Does anybody have the wiring diagram?
