Welcome, Tandom!
I can relate, mr Ranger's gauge has been broken for 15 years! I go by the odo, and I know exactly how many miles I can go per tank.
I suggest you find out for sure, so you don't have to worry. When mine first broke, I cruised around with a small can of gas, and drove til I ran out. So now I always reset the trip odo every time I fill up, and when I get close to the magic number, I fill up again.
Alternately, you could do the math on how many miles you drive from full until you fill up again, divided by how many gallons it took to refill. That's your mpg. Multiply that number times how many gallons your tank holds.
Sorry if you already know this, just trying to help.
