I have a 2008 V8 Explorer Limited with 65K miles. This week I noticed while in OD when I accelerated slightly there was a hesitation/jerking? My first inclination was tranny issue so I took it to the dealer. They mentioned that the rear and front tires were not of equal tread and it was causing the Transfer case to bind. Bought 2 new tires to match the 3 month old rear tires yesterday. Drive it today and felt the same thing. Anyone know what this could be?

If there's a check engine light on you may want to pull the code. If you haven't changed the fuel filter you could try that along with a tune-up in the vehicle is due for one.

Hope this helps you out.

Tony

Thanks Tony. I don't see a check engine light. I'll try changing the fuel filter and tune-up. From the posts I've seen, it doesn't look like a transmission issue, but I wanted to be sure
