What is causing these noises?

My wife's Explorer has 100,500 miles on it and is running great, except for two annoying noises.

Starting last summer, the truck will sometimes make a very loud "moosing" noise when ideling. It sounds like a very loud high pitched fog horn ... don't know how else to describe it. This only occurs at idle and goes away when I give it gas. The truck runs great though and we simply ignore it as it comes and goes and seems to be related to heat/humidity. I think that it may be the harmonic dampener, but I am unsure.

Also, for the last 30-40K miles, there is a hum/moan coming from the front hub. I am usure if it is the CV joint or the hub bearing. Since the truck is a 1996, I am assuming from things that I have read on this board that the hub is sealed and would need to be replaced. I would much rather tackle that easy job and see if it cures the noise as opposed to doing the CV joint. I pretty much have it confined to the bearing since the noise is constant regardless of how the wheels are turned. I guess my question here is: Is the bearing sealed for this year truck or can I just replace the bearing without replacing the hub?

I have the Chilton manual and have a concrete understanding of vehicle mechanics, don't be affraid to get technical. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I know that I can't be the only one on here with a "moosing" Explorer ... come one ... someone point me in the right direction please!

you have sealed bearings/hubs .... it is one piece....

I have the "moosing" noise!

Happens when in idle and I rev the engine. Goes away when I lightly touch the gas again. Doesn't do it all of the time. I also don't know what it is. Let me know if you find out.
Sorry I wasn't of any help.
