I have a '98 sport and was wondering what the best aftermarket air filter is? I was thinking maybe either K&N or KKM... Thanks

there very close! ppl that get k&n and ppl that get KKM can't tell a difference. go w/ the cheaper one of the 2. both are great filters. my k&n works great!

K&N and KKM are about the same, except the cost. K&N filters are "CARB" certified and will pass any and all emission tests. KKM are not. If you have strict emission tests, they may require a "CARB" certified air filter.

Most places don't look this close at air filters, but some places do. Some people have put a K&N sticker on their intake tube when they have a KKM or some other filter installed and this will usually pass.

Which is best? No one really knows. But either seem to help.

the good thing about the KKM is that it replaces the stock intake box. i picked up my Gen II intake from someone on the sie, best mod i have done to date - sounds great and makes my exhaust even louder! next step chip!

more info on the KKM. I just went to put a K&N in mine and ended up with the flat filer 'cause I wasn't going to pay for the whole intake kit and I needed a filter.
