Hello,

Was wonder if you could reccomend what is the best type of wax to use on my explorer. I see all types on the market like turrtle wax. But would like one that is also going to give it the new car sparkle . I have a great paint job that has no nicks or scratches (my explorer is very babied ) but does see mud and trails .

Second question what could your recommend for a carpet cleaner also what is a good soap to use all the time that will not leave a build up on the pain.

Thanks for your advice in advance

Folex for the carpets and upolstery, stoners invisable glass, for the glass.
Your going to get alot of info on wax, I have zainoed, I have used crystal gaurd, all high buck products, always looking for NERVANA, if it costs big bucks, it has to be better(American mentallity) used NXT for about 6 mos, is great stuff.
I just went back to old tech mothers solid pure carnuba, best shine I have ever had

IMO best shine for the buck & time is Meguiars NXT. Best all around is Zaino.

always used Tuff Stuff for carpets...

Thanks for the info I had the rid detailed after going into the mud and they where not to happy with me because they had to clean it. I live on the ocean so I pamper my rig because of the salt water and its in the garage most of the time. there is zero rust on it and its a 92 xlt. I love love my rig its been a great one 2nd owner .

thanks for the info.

Use liquid Spic and Span diluted with water as recomended, with a scrubb brush and a wet/dry vac for the carpets. Cheap and works exellent. Low residue and has brighteners in it. Mother's carnuba wax is awesome! I tried the 3 step deal from Mother's. Pre-wax cleaner, glaze, and wax. Better than brand new just by hand. I can just imagine with a power polisher.
Good luck.
Peace

Thanks for you help I went and bought alot of the mothers line of products and going to try it when I have a hot day. Thanks

don't forget about the clay bar.
Great point
Wash the Ex down with dawn dishwashing soap to remove the old wax, claybar than have at it :D

I have the Clay bar to how many does it take to do the full rig?
I bought 4 of them that should be enough ya think.I have seen alot of things on the market for high gloss finish but was not going to get it if its not worth the money . Is the liquid wax any better than the paste? I have always used past wax want to try liquid but have not til I bought some yesterday gonna try it this weekend.

One bar should be plenty, keep a bucket of hot water handy, claybar maybe a 3x3 section, when you rinse throw the bar in the hot water, makes it easy to knead it.
You can make a cheap claybar lube with some dishwasher detergent in a spray bottle, about an ounce the a qt of water, if you drop the bar on the ground, throw it away.

Thanks for the tip

I am debating weather or not to use the liquid polish after all the hand work that goes into the clay bar. Should I use a liquid polish after the wax or will it defite the purpose of the clay bar?

Thanks

All the claybar do's is remove contaminates in the paint/clearcoat,I:E raildust, salt, acid rain stuff, should be able to claybar in about an hour, than wax your brains out.

Gee that sounds like fun waxing my brains LOL
