What is the part number for this speed sensor on my E-4WD 1996 Aerostar?

Hello,
I had the transmission speed sensor go bad in my 96 aerostar electeonic 4x4 xlt. The part from autozone was wrong. It is digital with 3 male pins on the sensor.

is that the Speed Sensor mounted on the rear axle? are the pictures showing the old one?

This is the old speed sensor found on the driverside of the trans near the output shaft. The trans may not be original to the van.

Welcome to this forum! Since you have an E-4WD, is the part mounted to the transfer case or the transmission? You said that it was on the transmission but near the output. The extension housing is a 4 X 4 box design compared to the longer design of the RWD only version.

It was on the driverside of the transfer case by the output shaft.
