I was working under my new-to-me Explorer yesterday, and found this dangling under the engine. It is a three-pin connector with three wires that run underneath the front of the engine to a larger wire loom.

Wires:
Black/White
White/Red
Green/White

Can someone tell me what it is for and where it should be connected?

Thanks...

i think that might go to the a/c compressor. oh, btw, did you get or know about your brake switch recall? if not, go to ford and get it done, or one day your truck might be up in flames!

I've looked at the A/C compressor from every angle possible and I don't see any un-used connections. I'll look around again when I change the oil today.

Thanks for the heads-up on the brake switch recall. According to this site, the 1997 model year is not part of the recall: http://www.switchfires.com/

I hope there's a good reason it's not.
