What is this coming out og my transfer case

I noticed my 01 sport leaking fluid from this hose. What is it? I cut of the bad part and re attached it. but Im still curious what it is.

There are only two tubes in that area - one for the transfer case and one for the transmission. So either its the transmission fluid coming out or the transfer case fluid. Check both to make sure levels are okay.

Btw thats a really bad pic You could tell me God is in that picture and I'd just have to nod my head.

thanks for the reply. if its my vent is it normal for all this crap to be coming out. the drippings look like oil.

if the case is over full then yeah fluid would prob be coming out. there are two plugs on the case, one at the very bottom, and one towards the middle. take out the top one and if fluid is pouring out then its to full. the case only holds a lil more the 2qts if im not mistaken.

1 1/2 quarts of Mercon. Probably need to change it.
