What is this part?

This might be a stupid question, but does anyone know what this part is? I have a 2003 Explorer Limited and I can't seem to figure out what this is.

For reference, to the left is the wheel. As you can see in the center of the photo, the top piece of the black part has broken. I'm sure I can fix this, I just need to know what this part is called.

That looks like your sway bar end link.

Because that's exactly what it is. $15 and twenty minutes with a socket.
