Looked on a electrical schematic for this 'X' and found nothing. I'm guessing it is the Oil level.

Just behind the Starter. It has a single brown wire going into it that looks like it is held in with a Spring wire.

The Hex shape looks close to 17mm and it is about a 1.5" diameter circle going into the Oil Pan.

Mine appears to be weeping oil. But I don't know what to ask for at the Parts store.

Am I correct that I have to unclip the metal spring and pull the wire out?

Sounds like the oil level sensor. Locally (Calgary, Canada) it is a dealer part only. Cost me about C$60.

The single wire is a push-in fit into the sensor, should be able to carefully pull it straight out of the sensor. You will need to drain about half the oil from the engine before you try and replace the sensor. The new sensor from the dealer does not look the same as the original unit and the rubber plug on the wire connection does not seal as well to the new unit, but it seems to work.

THX!

Dealer part only...figures.

JB weld that sucker man, $60 for that thing... what the heck.
