What is this tube and could it be leaking fluid?

My transfer case seems to have a leak and I cant tell if its from the seem where the two halves meet of if its from this tube. There is what looks to be fluid sprayed above this tube which is open on top. The front of the vehicle is to the left of the pics. Thanks in advance

Looks like a vent to me. It appears to be a rubber elbow with a plastic tube. I would see if I could pull the tube that's sticking up out of the 90deg elbow. Clean out the tube and cap, it may be full of gunk at the top, and not allowing the case to properly vent.

in the other thread you said if you took out the top plug it would run out of the t case, that means it is way too full, and the wrong stuff too
