What is this broken wire to? It's under big plastic cover right on top.

Next. What do I do about the valve covers leaking oil? I can't find a picture right up of this. Would like to change gaskets. Thanks so much.

looks like fuel injector wire.

There are other posts out there. It is really important to clean the engine top as good as possible. If I had to do this again, I would disconnect the EGR pipe at the exhaust end instead of the intake manifold - it was a tug of war to get the EGR pipe back in for reassembly (I left the bottom/exhaust end connected).
