I'm hoping someone can identify what this is. I bought a 04 Explorer 4.6. I noticed this box under the dash (driver side fuse box). One wire going out the box is connected to a white wire (main harness going to drive side fuse box). The label says "Itech" or "1tech" not sure. It has the one yellow going to the white on the harness, one black ground and then speaker wire from the "Itech" box routed above the fuse box. I'm not sure where the speaker wire actually goes. The fuse was already blown in the yellow wire so whatever it is obviously wasn't working. It is obviously aftermarket. Can someone help identify?

Looks like that box will just pop open. Crack it and take a look inside. Post a picture too!

I will take a picture of the inside tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it was for a trailer brake system. I feel two small holes on the right side below the steering wheel. This is probably where they mounted the control unit. If someone can confirm im just going to cut the wires and take it all out.

Well you said there were speaker wires coming out if it, right? I was thinking it was some kind of feedback filter for an aftermarket system. Sometimes they are placed between amplifiers and speakers to cut back on high voltage hums.

I purchased a used ranger back in the day, it had something similar with a switch and it allowed you to change the backlit display on the dash to blue and green. An extremely useless aftermarket add on but could be something similar nonetheless?

I was wondering if it isn't part of an alarm system.
