I have been searching on here for awhile now and can't quite figure it out. Lately it has been having to crank over more times than normal to fire, and now I have a P0303 code that keeps coming back. Plugs and wires are almost a year old, have spark at #3 cylinder, and have fuel pressure. It will idle and miss fow a few minutes until it is warmed up. It is a 99 sport with the OHV engine. Should I clean my IAC, or is it the intake O-rings? Are the O-rings located in between the upper and lower intakes? Any help would be appreciated!

well i would think, if it idels good when warm that it must have somthing to do with the firing in the cumbustion chamber...so it could be somthing to do with the spark..

check all your gaps on the plugs

Check that plug very closely for cracked porcelain, and signs of arcing from the wire. Start the truck in the dark, and see if there is any arcing under the hood.

Also, check it for heavy deposits or black soot (signs of running rich.) A leaking fuel injector can cause hard cold starts and it takes a bit for the engine to burn off the fuel and start running right.

Usually an engine will start fine with a bad injector if it has been off for only a short period as the injector won't have time to flood the cylinder. Cold starts will be where it takes awhile to start.

I've got the 5.0, but my understanding of the o-ring issue was that it applied to the OHC, not the OHV, tho anythings possible.

I would probably go ahead and replace the #3 plug.
