I just got a 4x4 extended cab 1994 ranger. 4.0 automatic. The truck has Rancho shocks on it. The tires are 27.5 inches tall and there is about 5 inches of clearance between the edge of the tires and the fender flares. I know this truck has a suspension lift of some kind but I have no idea how tall the suspension lift is. Does it sound like a 2.5 or a 4 inch lift. It may be a 6 inch I have no idea. I know the PO had 33's on it but he said that they would rub at full lock. I'd like to put a 3 inch body lift on it and run 35's or even 38's. Any suggestions on tire size? This will be a hunting/camping truck not a highway queen. How do I figure out what gear ratio the axles have as well? I know that I will probably have to change out the gears but I'm not sure.

Thanks!

...If you post some pics of the lift components I'm sure others will chime in...As for the gears, there is a lot of info to be found in the "How To" in my signature..;)

Thanks! I'm going to read them right now. I'm going to try to take some pics of the suspension components.

My axle code is R6. I didn't find this code on any of the charts you listed. Anybody have any idea what my stock gear ratio is with the axle code R6?

Thanks!

... R6 = L/S 8.8" rear axle, 3.73 gears...;)

Thanks! According to your axle chart 33's will be maxing out my gear ratio, I think I may just go with 31's or 32's right now and save up to do the gear swap when I wear these out. I'm in need of new tires.

Thanks!

I'm thinking its a 2.5 inch lift based on the blocks. What do you think?

The drop bracket in your first pic looks yellow, that would make it a Superlift.
Are all the parts yellow?
Red would mean Rancho or Skyjacker, blue would be James Duff.

No that is the wierd thing. The bracket is the only part that is yellow.
