I would rethink the +4s but by all means replace the wires too.

Good luck......

just bought bosch double platinums.....

i just installed Champion Truck Plugs with Taylor Spiro-Pro wires. What a hell of a difference this made to my 97,500 mile factory plugs and wires. Iwent with ths Champions because I have never had good luck with platinum plugs and I have never had a problem with Champions.

Motercraft and jacob wires:p

I still have the stocker's on mine. Don't get Bosch +4's, they're right, they don't work. A couple of people from industry have told me that they don't work any better. For what plugs cost, if they really worked that much better, don't you think that Ford would put them on stock vehicles? Just my $0.02.

I've got the Bosch Plat. +2. Thinking about trying some Denso Iridiums next time around. Otherwise Motorcraft plats.

i amazed no one has mentioned this yet...

but the copper ones outperform all the rest. only reason to use te others is if your lazy and want to never have to change them.

Question
My currant OEM plugs are motorcraft AGSF-22PP, am going to a mild nitrous program next month, all I can reaserch tells me to run a slightly cooler plug to ward off detonation which is understood.
Question is: if I stay with Motorcraft plugs what numbers or letters in a plug ID tells one about hotter or cooler

i'm not sure on that, but absolutely run copper ones.

If you get nitrous Spindle, go all out and get some Iridiums. They aren't cheap, but I get absolutely no detonation now. Before with the copper ones when I hit about 9 PSI, I could hear/smell it. They aren't cheap, but very good insurance to have.

Thx Chopin
Who makes the Iridiums?
one of my main problems at this point is trying to cross refferance a colder plug to the OEM motercraft plug,i have all the NGK cross referance tables and there tech support says to use an NGK TR6 or a BR7EF if I slightly advance the timeing, am very  on the plug issue.

NGK and Denso both make Iridiums that fit the heads. The NGK's are a bit cheaper, so you know I got those.

i'm thinking that i'm gonna change my plugs and wires this weekend,

i'm gonna pull the autolites and put in NGK G-power's and then some wires probably from carquest

I had NGK Iridiums in my '95 and Nology SilverStones in my '99

yeah I have the NGK Iridiums, and it did have great response

i put bosch platinums and bosch wires. the original plugs and wires were in the x for 105,000 miles. runs a million times better now

Just did Bosch Platinum and Bosch Premium wires. Cured my shudder on inclines and even throttle. Course the champion plugs and motorcraft wires had been in there for quite some time.

Autolite Platinums here. they run good enough for me..mainly ride from home to work and back. just street riding no off road.

I bought the Bosch Platinum+4s for the Explorer when I first changed the plugs, then switched to the regular platinums and didn't notice a bit of difference. The STi is still running on the stock iridium plugs. (I should hope so, it's only got 7,500 miles on it.)
