I just got my '00 4x4 X and I had a lifted XJ which has a np231 and I installed an hd SYE on it and rear tom woods cv shaft. While the front already had a fixed yoke and cv shaft.

I am wondering what my 2000 XLS 4-door 4x4 Explorer has? I noticed the front shaft has this kinda cylinder type thing on it towards the t-case and I thought it was kinda odd. I plan on going SAS soon and just kinda need to know what ds/t-case mods will need to be done to acomidate 6"+ lift. I will go Atlas 2 in the future...

The front output of the T-case is a CV joint (ball and cage type rather than double cardan). Tom Woods can supply you an adapter to change it to a double cardan so that you can get a custom shaft made.

So would a 2" lift affect the front or rear driveshafts enough fo vibes, etc?
