your better off just getting a nice set of components for up front an ditching the rear speakers. use the money you save for a new hu if you don't have one. if you do then use it to start saving toward adding some sort of sub woofer, either a small 10" or something large if you like bass as more than just a way to balance out the system

those are nice, I have the Alpine equivelents (SPS-570A) at crutchfield.com and I love them. I need to get a sub though, for cost reasons I'm probably going to put a bazooka in (I don't listen to rap, so I figure thats enough for me)

I have the pioneer's F/R. They are a nice clean sound but lack any bass response. I should have went with the components.

OK cause what I was thinking was installing these speakers front and rear. A new headunit with steering wheel control adapter, replacing stock sub with a 10" MTX box. and a RF amp for the sub.

I have the same exact speakers up front. I agree with NOTAJP.

New stuff!

Double_Take,
Listen to Expo5.0 He knows what he is talking about!

Drew, I got my BK Butler Tube Driver Blue model 2150

http://www.butleraudio.com/main.html

Its driving a pair of Focal 165W Utopia's in the front.
AWESOME sound! 150 watts of true crystal clean power. Its amazing what quality gear can sound like. You hear everything. Every word in a song. You know when you listen to a song with a great beat and cant understand half of the damn words and have to figure them out? Well its nice to actually hear every little detail including instruments you didnt even know were there in the first place like a percusion instrument or something subtle like that. Even the spit in a horn. I can get overwhelmed just raving about it.

The tweeters are mounted in the same grill next to the mids. The guy at the shop suggested the imaging would be much better there. It actually sounds pretty good. I cant stop thinking about your idea of running a second set of tweeters on the dash to help bring the staging higher. Gonna take some thinking.

I have a pair of $100 Boston Accoustics (I think FX3) in the rear door powered by the Ford factory amp. I attenuate the rear speakers all the way so theres nothing coming out. Their only there if I have passengers and even though I probably wont turn em up. Hell, I'm the driver right?

The JL stealth box with a 10W1 in the back powered by an Alpine MRP-M350 amp. That sub kicks ass! Worth every penny :D

The only thing left to do is upgrade my HU to the Alpine 9835 in a couple months when its available. Besides, I have to let my credit card cool off. LOL

Hey thanks for YOUR input during my decision process and I'm glad to share my joy with you.

Regards,
Andrew-

BTW: I have a 3 week old JL 300/4 on ebay for sale.
