Hey all!
I finally decided on joining the family.
I was wondering what the next step is in restoring my dream vehicle. I was ruined my EX by running into the guard rail outside of work earlier this month. Front bumper, driver side fender & head light are trashed. My main issue is the alignment, and placement of the front axles . I don't want to give up the truck I've waited a long time for, but I'm at a loss what what to do next. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Add up the damages and see if it's worth fixing, or if you are just better off finding another used Explorer to start with.

I guess my next question would be, if it would be possible to swap out the 4x4 front end for a 4x2

Yes, I believe it is possible. You just need all the brackets which mount the axle to the frame.
