Currently have 245/65/17's want to go up to larger size without a lift/level. Will 255/70/17 rub etc.. Sure this has been aked a million times but thanks for answering!
I don't have a lift and I have 265/70r16 General Grabber AT2's on mine and I do have rubbing but only when turning with the steering wheel locked to one side. Its def worth it to me cause I love the size without the lift (Id love to have a Truxx lift one day and bigger tires). The only complaint is the crappy gas mileage, I think my tires are a little heavier than BFG's but they are like half the price, def worth it to me.
It looks like my tires are 30.6" diameter and the tires you want (255/70/17) are 30.1", you should be okay. The guy with 265/65/18 def has some rubbing since it is 31.6" diameter.
I have 285/70/17 with truxx lift, the wheels are -12 offset. They stick out an inch or two too much but a 0 or -6 may be better. Rub's a little at a hard turn. There had to be some trimming in the front but it was worth it. Have a shop install the lift and trimm, if you want it done right.
