what size mud tyres?

as im getting into offroading i need some decent tyres does anyone know what size i could go to with mud tyres ,i have no lift etc so wanted just a bit extra height through the tyres.i fancy some 265/75/16 but not sure if theyll rub when flexing offroad would 265/70/16 be better!thanks in advance ,richard

i have a couple of standard size generals on mine and the clearance is pretty tight (but i have spacers fitted) on the front i did have one rub the plastic molding a little,so not sure if they would rub without the spacers.

I've got 265/75/16 Grizzly claws on mine.. they're mud tyres... they're noisy on the road but awesome in the mud, if you get stuck I'd be surprised. totally inexpensive..

havent got a side on picture to hand sorry,will have to get one for you with tyres on lock-only a very small gap when on full lock,but my tyres are sitting as far out from the body as i can get them.
the tyres general grabber-all terrain are very good on road no wear after 2 sets of the goodyear crap the car came with,and not much noise that i can tell (although i have not got a full set).
not sure what they would be like in a full mud situation-but they have not let me down yet they do fill with mud but seem to let it go again.

thanks jay ive got a tyre place round corner from me ill pop in and have a chat to him as he told me before to use 265 70 16 the same size as all new 4x4 as he said theyd fill the arches a bit better? ill see what he says ................blueka,nice tyres the look im after,have you been offroad with them would (do) they rub when flexing ,cheers richard
