what size sub?

hey all, I have a new 01 sport 4x4 and want to know what size sub woofer fits in the back cargo area spot? looks like about 6" or so . Gonna open her up in a bit ,thought someone may know and i could start searchin...for a new one.thanx

you must be talking about the little spot on the passenger side in the back. they have "Stealth boxes" to fit in that area which can house a 8" (if im not mistaken i have saw a 10" in one as well".. but the stealth boxes are usually a little more $ than i would ever spend on one since i can fiberglass and can make it look how i want to. custom is always better anyway IMO.

so if you are good with fiberglass or would like to try your hand at it, i would suggest going that route and dropping a 10" in there for a little more kick. then you can always take that panel off and mount the amp stealth like behind the panel so no one can see it, or take your chances and cut out a spot in the panel and fiberglass something up to where the amp sits flush with the panel.. there are a lot of option just depends how frisky you feel like getting

that is what i would do if i ever went that small with a audio system.

"the one you are wanting/talking about is on the right in the link. the one on the left is bigger because it is ported. but if you know audio and audio mixed with explorers, they love ported boxes .. but to me the one they have that is ported is fugly haha. if you did some fiberglass work you could make a nice little ported enclosure and it would look so much better.


EDIT..... just re-read your post, you already have a factory sub back there? you might be able to mess with that and make it bigger if you wanted to go bigger. again sorry, i didnt read into your post enough i guess.
