hey guys thinking of doing a 5.5 in suspension lift. if i do what size tire can i run? if i go with the 8.5 what tire can i run with it? thanks

With 5.5, you should be able to run a 33 on an 8" rim with some rubbing and maybe minor trimming. I'v never heard of 8.5 inch lift..unless your planning on doing a 5.5" lift and then a 3" body lift. I think if you do that you can run a 35 on an 8" rim with some minor rubbing and minor trimming. I've never done any of this but this is just what I'v read on this site.

I have 33x12.5x15 on 15x8 (3.75" bs) with a 5.5-inch lift. The only place I rub is at fill steering lock the inside of the tires will hit on the sway bar. It is a common problem. You will not know for sure what tires you can fit until you complete the lift. Joey P is correct about lift and tire size. Dont forget that you will likely have to regear with larger tire size.

I have a 1991 with 4 inch suspension and 3 inch body. i am running 35's on stock diffs. no rubbing what so ever. thursday of this week though i am going to cut the fenders so i can go ahead and have room for 37's when the dana 60's go in front and rear with a total of 13 inches.
