Hey everyone, I am trying to figure out what size tires to go with when I need to get new ones, which will be in about a month. In the back of the truck I have the pro comp double AAL, and shackles, which gave me between 4 and 4.5". I am waiting for my 2" coil spacers for the front to come. The reason that I am only going with 2" in the front is because I don't want to buy axle drop brackets and radius arm drop brackets and all that expensive stuff. I am also planning on doing a 3" PA body lift one of these days. With this lift ( 7-7.5" in the rear, and 5" in the front) will I be able to fit 33's without trimming? I already looked at the max tire and wheel size thread, but that didn't really help. Any input would be great.

Thanks,
Andy

I run 33's with 5 inches up front and i had to trim. Actually i still rub but my wheeloffset isnt 3.75. Thats what id recommend if you do this.

I am going to be using my stock rims, because I cant afford new ones at the time being.

Also, this truck isn't going to be seeing a whole lot of offroad action. So, do you rub only when flexing, or do you rub when turning into parking lots and stuff?

Thanks,
Andy

I'm sure your aware of this but it's going to look kinda odd with the front sitting so much lower than than the rear. I know you want to lift your truck, but I would seriously consider just going 2" in the rear (so you pretty much level) and then a 3" body lift. You could fit a 33" there I think with alittle trimming maybe according to this thread lifts and max tire sizes
I know 2" difference doesn't sound like alot but it will be very noticable. I don't want to come off as an ass, that's not my point, I'm just saying for 33"s you dont' need that much in the rear.

my 2 cents

I know what your saying, I am kinda wondering how it's gonna look with the front 2" lower than the back. But I'll see after the body lift. If it still looks odd, I will take off my shackles, and just leave the double AAL's in there.

Cool, glad you didn't take it as something mean :) I only have a single aal in mine and the rear sits slightly higher than the front, i'm pretty sure the stock springs have sagged a bit though. Good luck, post pics!!!

Your rear end will settle and it will end up looking just fine.

Thanks

I ordered my 3" PA body lift today. It will be here by the weekend because I got 2nd day air, so I should have it installed by the end of the weekend, and hopefully my 2" coil spacers come so I can install them this weekend too!! OOOOOOOOO, im sooo happy.lol

Also, Before I ordered it, I went outside and tried turning all the bodymount bolts, and they budged with no problem at all, which Is incredibly surprising considering that my truck has seen its whole life in wisconsin, and as we all know 'nothing rusts in wisconsin';) lol . So, it shouldnt be that big of a deal to install

How wide are you going with your 33's ? I had to trim with 5" up front but that was with 33x12.5's on 10" wide wheels. You should be fine if you go with a stock wheel with a narrow tire.

I am planning on going with 33x12.5 on the stock rims.

The body lift came today. I checked everything, and it all seems to be there. I am planning on starting to install it tommorow after school. I have read about 200 posts regarding body lift installation, and feel that I have quite a firm grasp on how to do it. And like I said before, the body mount bolts turned pretty easily when I tried them, so hopefully this wont be an incredibly difficult task. I'll let you all know how it goes. I know Im not going to get it all done tommorow night, but I'll see how far I can get.

Later,
Andy

you still might rub when flexing and turning.....dont be surprised if you ahve to trim

ARE YOUR STOCK RIMS 15X7? IF SO ARE THERE ANY PROBLEMS WITH RUNNING SUCH A WIDE TIRES ON NARROW WHEELS?

Yeah, my stock rims are 15X7. I have heard of a couple of other members who have run 33x12.5x15 on the stock 15x7 rim.

some shops wont mount that wide of a tire on the 7 inch wide rims for liability reasons, but i think the discount places do cause they dont know any better. midas put 33x12.50's on my friends j**p with 7 inch wide rims and they havent given him any trouble
