I've seen a couple of these knocking around town.

Gen IIs four doors, some are cream colored, some are white. Bumpers and trim are the same color as the paint and they all appear to sit 2 to 3 " lower than a typical Explorer.

I saw a clip from Motorweek on Youtube where that Saleen built a few of these Explorers but I think that was just in 1999 and they are very rare.

Are these Explorers that people have repainted the entire vehicle then lowered or was this a special trim model they sold.

They did make a few saleen explorers so that could be it. They could also be lowered trim limited maybe lowering shackles and a lowered TT.

Yeah I beleive that it's. Wonder why they all look lower than a standard Explorer? Maybe the owner lowered it?

Speaking of which. My '96 Explorer sits considerable lower than man dad's Eddie Bauer 84 Bronco II. With it's V6 engine, that was a fun vehicle to drive but it felt very unstable due to it's tall coil springs. It had allot of body roll to it.

When I was a teenager I was chasing a friend in his 81 Mustang through a mall parking lot, made a sharp turn and felt like one of the rear wheels came off the ground.

One day I was driving down the road and saw a Bronco II with a small utility trailer hooked to it that had flipped on it top. I don't know what had happened. If he over corrected or what but it was not windy that day.

I was working for a grocery store and to make a long story short had to go pick up a load of bannanas. I had this thing loaded to the max. Back seats reclined, 2 or 3 boxes in the passenger seat stacked to the ceiling. You could not get another case of bannanas in that thing! Best I recall I was carrying about 20 or 22 cases. That was a scary ride back. Luckily I only had to drive a mile. Dad would have $h!t if he had known what I did. Well it got me out of bagging groceries for about an hour or two.

Some of the stupid things we do when we are a teenager...
