what spline ratio do i have

i know that i have a dana 35 and 3.73 gears in the front and the 8.8 also with 3.73 gears in the back. What i dont know is what the spline count is, it could be 27 28 or 31 according to others and the chilton repair manuel. What they dont tell you is what the spline is or how to determine it from the sticker on the back of the front ttb. Nor does it say in the manual that came with the x. I need to know this b/c im wanting to get a e-z locker or truetrac and they have different ones for the different splines. any help would be greatly apprcaited

all explorers have a 31 spline rear axle ford 8.8" (at least until the 3rd gens) and i beleive the fornt is a ford TTB 27 spline dana 35 (im guessing this is for your 94 ~~ after 94 they did wierd things to the diffs)

thanks jimabena74 for the help and doug i always search before i post and it only told me the rear spline count which i knew, i just needed the front
