So over the past 6-8 months, my 2006 Ford Explorer with 4.6 3valve engine, 100k miles, died on me 4 times so far. The first 2 times were when I was towing my trailer, and it happened exactly when I was going down the hill and braking. My trailer has electric brakes, I have factory tow package and the controller is connected to the factory connector. First I thought that the brakes draw so much current, that I was not getting enough juice to create sparks by coils, maybe that was dumb. And then, the last 2 times happened without the trailer in same conditions, goins down the hill, slowing down and then it just dies. In all cases I moved to N and restarted the car while moving with no issues. Somebody said that it's crankshaft position sensor....
Any ideas ?
