97 Eddie Bauer Explorer
Trying to order plug wires and motorcraft lists with EDIS and without. My 97 Edie Bauer was manufactured in 11/96. What the hell do I need?

EDIS-
Electronic Distributorless Ignition System

Yes... The 4.0l has it.
Yes... The Explorer 5.0l has it.

So coil packs then? As you can tell, haven't been into the motor yet.

Just a heads up: Explorers run best on Motorcraft plugs and wires. Ask anyone on here, and they'll tell you the same. And for the love of God, don't use bosch. Just ask Joe Dirt :D

However, I don't know that any transmission shift solenoids are NOT made by Bosch. Ordered one, it came in the German box, even. imp

I would never use Bosch. I was going to put in NGK Iridiums, but if you guys say no then I won't.

They also make pretty much every injector pump for diesels nowadays too. I'm not saying Bosch quality Is bad, but that their spark plugs simply don't work well in our engines.

Autolites work fine, all my trucks have run better with them and I kinda think it may be the fuel around here.

Stick with Motorcraft or Autolites.

Put in whatever's cheapest. The only difference between brands nowadays is the color of the box.

Autolite was the OEM for our spark plugs, but I've been able to find better deals on the Motorcraft plugs than those.
