What tires do you prefer?

I am buying new tires next week and would like your opinions on which tire you would prefer and why. I am thinking about the Michelin Crossterain SUV, the Michelin XCX/APT or the Michelin XC LT4 from Sears.

I dont go offroading so I am mainly looking for a smooth and QUIET highway ride. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I got the cross-terrains standard on my X when I bought it. Definately a wonderful tire. Very quiet on the highway. The ride is also very very smooth. I really enjoy them. I haven't tried the XC LT4 tires so I can't comment on them.

For the application you are looking for, look no further than Michelins. But you already know that... I guess you just need more confirmations.

I consider a Michelin to be among the finest on-road tires you can buy. My friend has them on all his cars, and swears by them. Of course all that comes at a price...but I think if you're going to spend a lot of money on 1 thing on a vehicle...spend it on tires. They're the most important thing, they are what touches the road, unless you really screw up

After I had some bad experiences in the water with the original firestones I got the XC LT4 from sears (s/a M+S). I chose these over the cross terrains because the cross terrains were new and did not have much consumer history and LT4 looked to have deeper more open area to fend off water & grip snow. In retrospect with some history documented by others its looks like cross terrains are a very good tire.

Been very happy with LT4. Smooth quiet ride, good grip slightly more agressive sidewall look. To keep it smooth get the passenger "P" rated ones not the "LT" ones. The LT have stiffer sidewall, rougher ride, better for towing and offroad.

I have 80K on my LT4's, and they are great in rain/snow/dry. Still have plenty of tread left too!
