Sorry to post this, but I searched for a while and can't figure it out.
I'm going to try and help my brother troubleshoot his v8 2002 Explorer in a couple of days. The car doesn't seem to send any power to the front wheels. On the dash are buttons for Auto, 4H and 4L.
What transfer case is in this vehicle?
Is it considered AWD, or is it 2wd that switches to awd when needed?
What does Ford call this system?
When you hit the 4H button, the dash lights up 4wd, but the system doesn't send any power to the front wheels. when you hit the 4L button in neutral, it just blinks and never engages?
We will put it on the lift, and listen for clicks at the control module behind the glove compartment.
