What Wheels will fit?

Ok, so it's time to put tires on the explorer ( 99 xlt v8 ) and I am wanting to give it a little more aggresive look. I am wanting to step it up to 31x10.5's, but really dont want to put some nice tires on stock 99 rims. Will newer ford rims fit my explorer? ( f-150, explorer, ect?? ) With spacers? Also is there an easy way to lift my suv about 2"?

thats for what size tires will fit with/without the lift...

and probably the easiest/cheapest way to get the 2 inches of lift would be a 2" body lift. if you can settle for like 1.5" you can go with the TT/shackle combination.

Start with the TT and shackles they are the easiest and cheapest. Then if you still need more then go for the body lift it is more involved and more expensive.

Ok, so the tt/shackle lift is the way I am going to go, and I have my mind set on some 31x10.5's, But I am still wondering if wheels from a 2002-up will fit my 99. Also, what wheels from other ford vehicles will fit.

why not just purchase after market wheels?

I don't think the bolt pattern changed for any year explorer, I think it was always 5 x 4.5", although the backspacing may have changed.

I would love to purchase aftermarked wheels, but am trying to get out a little cheaper. Plus I really like some of the newer wheels. Does anyone know where I can find the backspacing sizes of stock ford rims?

Torsion Twist, it is a method of tightening the torsion bars to raise the front of the vehicle. With a 4x4 you can safely go up another 1.5" over the stock hieght.

if you search for it in the forums you will see many thread on how to do this. It is for the 2nd gens only.
