If you want a factory CD changer, you need to have the head unit with the CD buttons. If you don't, go on ebay and get one that is for premium sound and not JBL because they will not work with the system without a sub.
Mine has the radio with the CD buttons, so I guess I'm half way there! I'm told I'll need a different harness with a plug for a changer in the console, is this haness just a simple plug/unplug or would cutting/splicing be involved? Thanks.
If yours has CD buttons already, you should be able to find the plug at the bottom of the center console...once you take the sleeve out. But if it was just a replacement, you need to find a harness with the changer plug. Another way to go at it is to get an aftermarket changer with an adapter. I went that route when I changed my head unit with cd buttons and got an aftermarket changer with an adapter.
