Whats the best headunit for me?

you have some crazy ideas why would you want to get one 10 in the facory spot and then a sub box? that would really be unessarsary go on the jl audio site and look at the pro wedge 12w3 trust me if you purchase that sub box you will get that idea of needing more than one sub out of your mind. that is the box that i own and that is the best single sub i have ever heard in my life i have better sounding deeper bass than anyone i know and all of my friends are into those sound off competitions since i bought my sub everyone has converted their systems to jl audio. it dosnt take up too much space in your cargo area because it is only one sub. you will also need an amp my friend just purchased a rockford fosgate punch 250 with the same sub box i have and that has plenty of power to push it and as far as being heard far away .... the police officer that was about two telephone poles away from me at a long line at a red light was pissed off enough to pull his car out of line and wait until i passed him to give me a nice lecture about disterbing the peace. i got away with just a warning. anyway trust me on this one go with a jl audio with a punch amp you will be glad you did.

I went to JL's website today and saw their box types. I was thinking 2 of their 250 watt 12's in a box. I dont know whats wrong with me, I change my mind more than I change my socks but today, I compared the system I had picked out to several other possible systems. I was thinking about the two 12's, Infinity components and speakers, and I'm looking at Alpine headunits right now. Then I was thinking a Fosgate amp, correct me if I'm wrong, I dont have much experience in amps. My cuz has 2 JL 12's in his car, I havent heard it though, but he's an audio nut and has replaced the systems in several of his cars, so I guess he knows what he's doing. Also, I had a really wacky idea for a speaker mount today. You guys think it would be possible to go and buy 1 or 2 6x9 speakers and then put them in boxes and mount them hanging down from the roof directly over the cargo area? I thought that would be really sweet. an 8 speaker sound system, oh yeah! Tell me what you think. I thought it might pose a problem if you drilled them into the roof, but theres alternative ways to mount them up there, right?

I've got the stealthbox and believe me, it's worth all the praise people have been giving it.

As for head units and speakers and stuff, you could ask five people and get five different answers (six if one is from Florida), so just look around, and buy the stuff from the place you trust the most.

Components are definitely the way to go up front, but just put coax's in the rear (if anything). Please don't hang the 6x9's over the cargo area. Of all the ideas I've heard, that's probably the one I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to do.

The speaker placement is very important, about as important as which speakers you choose.
