ok i know i shouldn't be complaining cause ive gotten more milage out of my a4ld than everyone (308,000 miles)but a handful of explorer owners but here goes. first off alot of times when my tranny is cold it is reluctant to shift(seems like its stuck in gear) but its fine after it warms up, no biggie. but today i was driving for about an hour on the freeway and i was going up over an over pass and i was in overdrive. when all of a sudden my car started to jerk back and forth, not like it was downshifting then upshifting, it was more like the torque converter was locking and unlocking repeatedly while in fourth gear, my rpms were jumping up and down by about 500 each way. second hill i was on cruise control in overdrive doing about 70 when it began to slow down so instead of it downshifting (which it is reluctant to do on cruise control anyways) it seems like it goes into nuetral, engine running just fine, just no power. its starting to bug me and i checked my fluid and it was fine. but why is it acting up? is it just time to bite the bullet and get it rebuilt?
