Ive owned two explorers, 98 5.0 and 04 4.0. The first I replaced all 4 one at a time, and my 2004 I have all replaced once, now they are all going again one at a time!!!!! Its been so common every time I change my oil I look for a leaky axle seal. Fluid in differentials has been changed, I just don't understand. I will be on my 8th axle seal change in my 2004 in 5 years. Anyways, Im going to add blue devil oil stop leak to the front diff tomorrow to see if it will stop my front passenger seal that has 15k miles on it from leaking. Unless someone says do not add that!! Seriously, I bought another car as a daily driver because I cannot deal with my explorer repairs anymore as a daily driver but i need a truck a few crucial times a year. Now I only put about 2-4k miles a year on my explorer, but make sure to drive her at least a few miles a week to keep everything moving.

What types of seals are you using, aftermarket or OEM?

I doubt the seals are the issue. Unless installed uneven. They may be being worn by improperly machined surfaces on the axles.

I agree it's odd.

Are the axles OE? Is the vehicle lifted?

Can those axles take a Redi Sleeve to repair wear grooves?

All work has been done at the ford dealer so assuming oe everything. vehicle 100% stock. No lift, thinking of getting a set of rancho quick lifts though to replace all the shocks/springs. hmm. 124,950 on the dash, new trans at 88k. Engine still seems strong, love the damn truck.
