Whats wrong

Hello every one i have a 1998 ford explorer and its got a big v6 in it
but hears the problem when i'm doing 55mph on stock tiers its riding a little over 3 grand on the tack whats wrong what do i need to do
it seems like it shifts fine but i dont know what to do so any help would be nice

It sounds like it isn't going into all of the gears. When driving, if you press your OD button, does it shift?

Also, are you in 4wd low by any chance? The RPM's seem high even if you are just missing a gear.
 






Sounds like not going into overdrive.

I dont think its in 4LO, 3k RPM at 4LO is maybe like 25 MPH.

Must be the gearing in mine...that's what 4lo in 4th gear would be in for mine. It seems like 2nd gear in mine at that speed.
 






Here's the 4LO speed doodad -- since the low gear ratio is 2.48 (for the BW1354, should be about the same for the BW4405), when the vehicle is for example moving at 70 mph at 3k RPM, then at 4LO, it will be moving at 28 mph at the same RPM.

I was actually talking about the diffy gearing. I agree though, it sounds like OD is gone.

perhaps, your TC lockup ain't happening. Count the gear shifts from stop to 55 in some open highway. If the gears are all there, then you ain't getting TC L. Potentially, solenoid issue or a leaky valve body.
