I posted this in the 06+ explorer section but now I think I am getting an 02-05. Just a tire question really. I am wondering what size tire I can run on a stock rim that will be a little taller than the stock one. Also wondering if anyone can recommend a similar tire, little taller than the stock setup, for a rim such as this..http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRR-3975812/ Any help would be great. Thanks.

265/75/R17
265/75/R16 is the biggest you can go without lifting.

Okay, any idea what size tire would be good on a 15x8 rim like that? I don't need the absolute maximum, just taller than stock would be nice. Thanks.

what about a good size tire for a 2.5/2 in coil spacer lift? not looking for "biggest" just looking for something that would look nice

31x10.5 for the 15's

Are you sure? I'm not sure which generation it is I'm looking at like an 03-04 right now. I see lots of people say 31x10.5x15 is a common uprgade and I looking on off-road parts websites and they have 15x8s as options for the explorer. I'm just trying to get my info straight before I spend that much money haha.

Would there be an advantage to changing the size of the wheels and tires on a 2000 XLT from 15 in to 16 in. What would be the negatives. I just want more ground clearance but don't want to upset my mpg. Not a real car buff but I do like my exploder a lot.

any idea how much a setup like this would alter my speedo? 16x8s with 265-75s.

roughly like 4-6 mph maybe ?

I'm sorry guys somehow I got involved in your conversation. I'm new to this site so tell me what I need to do to get the answer to my question. Thanks

what about just using wheel spacers to change the lug pattern and use a f150 wheel and tire combo

I found some rims I like. They are 17x9's. A 9 inch wide rim won't rub will it? what size tire would give me a larger than stock setup, 30 or 31 inches around there? No lift or anything just bigger rims and tires.
