So I'm sick of crawling under this bi*ch trying to get the front end squared away..
I think I have the problem narrowed down as well, but would like some input.
While driving, i hear the low throbbing hum of a bearing thats gone bad. I also tend to get some vibration at high speeds 70+ through the truck. now on my Driverside CV halfshaft i noticed that if i push on it it moves probably an 1/8 of an inch up and down.. is this acceptable for bearing play or could this be the culpret of my issues. I do not know the mileage on the diff, but it comes out of a 2001. I believe its REV BF if i recall correctly. The truck itself has 1 recently new wheel hub/bearing installed on the driverside right (same side as play in axle bearing)...
Judging by the fact its a low tone, i figure its something related to the wheels rather than diff input due to spinning a lower speed. Also, could this be the passenger side hub finally failed.. The truck is a 2000 5.0 awd 3:73 LS. 163,000 miles
Note I am running 75w90 Royal Purple Gear oil. Could this affect it?
Any help would be much appreciated. This is my daily driver and probably gets about 500-1000 miles a week put on it
Thanks!
