I went in today to get my 1991 ford explorer after a wheel alignment and they told me i needed a new right front wheel bearing? can i replace 1 at a time or is that wrong? and im told i need to get the whole wheel bearing and hub assembly, it is vitrually impossible to find one for a 1991 explorer on the internet ive been trying hard does anyone no where or what site i could find one from? thanks alot

There is no "wheel bearing and hub assembly". That would be like the unit bearings they use on newer cars, which is basically the bearings and hub all in one sealed, non-serviceable unit.

Your truck has regular wheel bearings, there are two tapered bearings on each side which you should be able to get at any half decent auto store. (don't forget the seal too)

Check out the how-to thread below. It takes you through doing the bearings and brakes....

if by one at a time you mean one side then yes, you can, if you mean one of the pair of bearings then they should be done together

any deent parts store should have a listing, i know for a fact that napa does

You can just replaced my front wheel bearings on my 93 ford explorer took me about 25 mins a wheel and was fairly simple. Got my bearings at autozone for about 30 bucks per wheel.
