Well it happened, I nicked my rim in my office parking garage this morning. So pissed at myself; did not have my coffee yet....

two questions:

-Does anyone have a set of sport wheels that they replaced with aftermarket rims and are willing to part with them and sell them individually? I am sure other members would like to have a matching full-size spare or would like to replace a wheel that has a bit a curb-rash.

-Has anybody had any luck repairing scraped rims and/or have any recommendations of places here in the tr-state area that fix rims?

Sorry to hear about that. That is one reason I wished the Limited model came with the 17" wheel option. The 20's are nice but too prone to damage like that. I use 17's in the Winter.
There have been posts about this type of damage and repairs but I haven't found them yet. You can try using the 'search' program with this Forum.
I read a post by a member who has the Sport wheels and was looking to replace them. I doubt anyone would be willing to sell just 1 wheel though.

Look around for a company that has/sells take-off parts for the explorer. I don't know if one exists (newtakeoff.com doesn't seem to carry mustang parts) but when you find a company with those kinds of parts you can get some really good deals.

We got a set of rims and tires for a s-197 mustang GT for $800 (shipped).

Of course you always have ebay you can watch.

Personally I like having a spare set of rims (or at least a couple) with "ok" tread tires. That way if there is a flat I can toss on the spare rim with tire when I get home and then just drop off the bad one and pick it up when I have time.

Google wheel repair in your area. There are several companies that will come to your home or work and repair your wheel while you work for around $100 per wheel.

Spot on. And you won't even see the repair when done properly.

My wife curb rashed her passenger front the second day of owning her sport. Called up a local curbrash.com rep and met him at a dealership where he was working that day. It was cheaper since I met him there and he didn't have to drive out to my work. He fixed two spots on the rim for $40 cash. I was amazed how you couldn't tell where the rash was.

Looks like I'll be looking into a place that does repairs too. Even though we have 8 rims 2 of them have some rash on them.

It sounds cheap enough to be worth getting them fixed.
