Wheel Offset Question '96 on an '08

Hi all,

I want to change my stock 16" for 15" solely for the price of tires. I found a stock set of 1996 Explorer wheels and see the bolt pattern is the same, but the 2008 is listed as having a high positive offset and the 1996 has a medium offset. Will these work? Will they work well? Issues? Help? Thanks in advance.

my dad swapped his 04 explorer wheels for old 1995 EB wheels.... within 6 months 3 wheel bearings started popping..... we still don't know if this was a coincidence but it was expensive.... the rims are now gone forever.... I have my 1998 15's with brand new tires and I don't have the balls to swap them for winter use
