Do most of you on the site here generally agree that a 15x8 wheel with 3.75" backspacing is a good size for running 33x12.50R15? The lift is a Superlift Superunner (extended radius arms) 5.5" kit on my 91. If not what is? I really want to rub as little as possible. Thanks

That back spacing should work...I've got 33x14x15 boggers and I've got a backspacing of 3 5/8 and there is no rub.

15X10 at least!

you generaly want your wheel within two inches of the tread width. the wider the wheel the bigger the tire will look. it won't look as bubbly bubbly either. i'd highly recommend a 10" wheel. it's only a couple bucks more for the 15X10's usually. your also a lot less liable to lose your seal if rock climbing or sloshing in the mud w/ low pressure. -russel

Thanks for your replies guys! It's really nice knowing that someone is out there...

Olivesman, what backspacing would be good on a 15x10 then?

I would say that is the most common size and backspace, and also the best. I run it.

Also, you will lose a seal much easier with a 10" rim than an 8". A narrower rim clinches and holds onto the tire more than a wider rim.

I definately agree with Ranger X...I've got a 14in wide tire and i've got a 10in wide rim and it's perfectly fine rim...I'd personally get a 15x8 rim

i agree w/ ranger x somewhat. but i also think it depends on your background and what you plan on doing. i've always heard wider is better. i'm not talking about going to a 12" to match the tire, just enough to keep it from bubbling and if you do go TO small it will loose it's seal in extreme conditions. i mean, you have 7" stock wheels and like 9" tires. so, why move to almost a 4" bigger tire and stay almost the same w/ your rim. if nothing else, they don't look near as good and w/ a ford, probably will rub more. and that's from personal experience. every tire guy i've ever talked to said within 2" max. but i do trust you guys b/c you do have more experience so please don't think i'm questioning your judgement or being a jerk. -russel
cac91-the biggest backspacing i've found is an american racing tailgunner wheel= 4" good luck man

Thanks again, Olivesman

Anybody else want to give their words of wisdom? I would appreciate it.
