yea, theres a million threads around (yea i know search doesn't getcha what u want sometimes) here. I just posted one asking about the NEED for spacers, since i have super wide tires (275) on my truck.

Anyway ha, yea u can put spacers on, just nothing too big or u end up modifiying other things such as buying different lugs, etc. U also must beware of making the whole set-up weak from putting too big of a spacer on

Guessing your goin for something not to crazy thou right??

yea jsut somethign to brign the tires out a bit with out spending over a gran on tires(again) and doin all this other stuff...i dont have alot of money..but what i do got usually gets spent on the truck..so i just saw these and was thinking it would be a good idea..for a stock 96 explorer with awd what size do you think would be the biggest i should get..with out causing problems?

hmmm, that'd be more easily answered by a site veteran or maybe even just a mechanic/tire/wheel shop u kno? Just tell them ur situation - just thinking about it but and wanna be safe. If u look around there are a bunch of spacers on ebay, places like pepboys typically carry them, etc. Hopefully u can get some better answers than mine ha

good luck, i'll send ya a pic of mine if i get em sometime soon

You would want to ensure the spacers are hub centric to your hubs.
1.25" would give the desired effect but you may like it wider so 1.5". There are numerous places to buy, but i wouldn't buy from ebay, that's just me though, lots of others have.

Putting on spacers does stress you're wheel bearings more but that hasn't stopped hundreds of people doing it, so it's just FYI.

I have 1" on my X because I coul't get the distance from my UCA due to putting gen3 rims on a gen2.

I wouldn't put much larger than 1.5" as the stress is magnified the thicker you get.

Make sure you get spacers from a good source as ebay ones "made in china" are not always balenced or true.

Remember you have 2x the lugs to tighten now too.

how bad are we talkign with the stress on the barrings? and yea i wouldnt be buying from ebay. and what's the difference with the whole twice as many lug nuts..you only tighten the ones on the spacer once correct?

These pry are the only wheel spacers I would dare to use.

what makes them different then any others? and any idea where i could buy them in the langley area.

as with any tire changes, etc... you need to re-torque after 100km.

I found after installing the spacers, a dab of blue loctite will keep it in position a little better, after 100km, I re-torqued, and re-installed the tire.

After another 100km I checked the tires lugs, haven't had to adjust since.

or until I need to replace the rotors.

so with these you need to retighten every 100 kms?

just retighten the spacers once to make sure, after that they shouldn't need much adjustment.

Careful though, if the spacers are not exactly tightened right you will get a shimmy/wobble from them.

hmm..well i still kinda like this idea. any one know of a price range i would be looking at for a set of four
