wheeling at Uwharrie, NC July 29 - 31

My CB died... im hoping to get a new one or at least a handheld one b4 the run. Gotta go hit up the radioshack.

I would moun thte antenna on the front or rear bumper personally... dont want it sticking up 15 ft int he air taking out trees, birds, and lowflying airplanes.

Airplanes, lol, it would only be like a 4 ft. Anywayz, yea i hit radio shack up today, the cheapest one they had was 71 dollars. I was like dang, so i am going to look at walmart, i only need a cheap one to talk to the people infront of me, if walmarts expensive, will prolly hit up the pawnshop. -TJ
 






only thing about the rear bumper is the fact you have to offset it alot to avoid shutting it in the rear hatch. Mine is quite tall BUT get very good reception.

i need to get a new antenna. when i took my factory bumper off it still had my antenna on it and i had it in the back of the truck and the bumper slid and broke the antenna... so i need to mount a new one to my custom bumper... RADIO SHACK!!!

I think my CB was around 60 bucks. I have been very pleased with it. It is a MidLand. I got it from High Country when they were still in business. Walmart has some good cheapo's I think.
 






As far as bumper mounts go. I am afraid of hooking it on something like a tree or rock. You can put them towards the front of your rack and then angle them towards the back I have seen quite a few of those around town to solve the height problem.
 






I am a big fan of a front bumper mount... i think it loos cool and you can use it for a guide if you cant tell how close you are to something
 






I dunno I a not a huge fan of front bumper mounts.
 






guys i might have an issue... i think a rear wheel bearing has gone bad in my truck....does that need to be replaced immediately or can i wheel with it busted this weekend. If it needs replacing do you think a shop will be able to fix it in time?
 






Ummmmmmmm I don't have a clue on that one. Someone else will ahve to answer that one. Sorry to hear that.
 






a rear wheel bearing? You sure it isnt the brakes squealing. YOu really have to abuse an 8.8 to damage the bearings.

What are the symptoms?
 






Thats what I was thinking but wanted some else to say it. 8.8 is like the SBC 350 of the axle world!!! We need some symptoms?
 






the noise actually went away after that one trip to the movies and back.. its strange... my dad seems to think its a wheel bearing, but i have no idea. The noise was just rediculously loud and it scared me at first, but i woke up this morning and drove it and the sound was gone... :confused: I would still like to check things to see. (i already have a post about it in the 911 with the symptoms if you wanna check that out.) Thanks.

hey man... if you have a squeeling sound then its probably your breaks... if its growling and clunking or something along those lines... its probably your bearing.. but like nissanboy said.. to bust a bearing in the 8.8 youd have to wheel that thing hard. jar that thing around and such... if the sound went away it wont be your bearing.. cause once a bearing goes bad its bad and the sound wont stop... trust me haha... ive replaced to many front wheel bearings... you may be in luck!

and uhh anyone got a spare power steering pump? mine just went out! sas is sounding sweeter and sweeter... nissanboy gave me a great idea! :D
 






man wish i would have know about the power steering pump about a week ago, i took mine back for the core price, it was broken or anything i thought it was leaking but it was my return line. -TJ
