Alright, this question is kind of nit-picky, but here it goes.
I'm thinking about getting some Super Swamper M16 295/70/R17s. The rim width on Interco's site is 8-9.5. I would really like my wheels to have the optimal width for the tires I choose. So, should I get 17x8.5 or 17x9 wheels?
Just in case usage has a hand in the matter: Driving will be roughly 2/3 on-road, 30-70 mph driving and about 1/3 in mud, forging .5-1.5ft. mud puddles and on sand.
Also, as a general knowledge question, fitting tires to different rim widths is basically done just by adjusting the inflation, right?
