I'm in Cleckheaton, West Yorks. On my 2nd Ex which is a un-modified X reg North Face. I also have a (cough, cough...) M reg Skoda Favorit estate for my daily runner/shopping trolley. And a mostly re-built 1969 H reg (tax exempt) Dutton Sierra kit car which I've put on a modified Suzuki Samurai 4X4 chassis & running gear and fitted an old pushrod 2.0i Vauxhall Carlton engine and box. I've also got a half share in a heavily modified off road trials prepared Suzuki Samurai - coil suspension all round, 2.0i Cavalier lump on a Carlton box, full roll cage, radiator in the back, etc, etc. Oh! I nearly forgot - and a lightweight 14ft 2 berth caravan which the Ex doesn't know it's got on the back when I'm towing it. The Ex and caravan combo can out-drag a lot of cars in the traffic light grand prix!
Just to add to the above, my first Explorer was a S reg 'facelift' model (reg plate in middle of tailgate and nice alloys instead of chrome trims). I trailed up to Jennings Ford in Stockton on Tees to buy it and traded in a Rover 827 against it. That Rover was the fastest car I've ever owned...

I think that's more for Canadians ;)

I'm from Flackwell Heath in Bucks, drive a 99 XLT as my daily driver :exp: . It doesn't have any mods - i've managed to keep it standard (apart from the stereo and door speakers!) for over a year now which is a record for me! On the horizon though could be a custom made snorkel as there are some deep fords round here :D

My weekend car is a (cough cough ;) ) Skoda Octavia vRS which has been highly modified and has a huge spec sheet if anyone is interested It runs around 400bhp from a GT28RS big turbo conversion on it's 20v 1.8T VW engine.

I forget and i drive a hoopty that turned into my own (semimovable) storage unit :\

We're from Dgenham in Essex - used to be the home of Ford in the UK - until the Germans took over the company
Our ex is a dark metallic bue (wedgewood??) '98 - should be R reg but had N.I. plates for some reason - can ony assume RDZ was a previous owners initials. Got the central number plate but chromed rims and the Ford 6000 audio with CD in the back. Bought the Ex about 6 months ago after the Mercedes E320 estate we used to tow our caravan kept scaring the crap out of us. The Ex is MUCH better at it - and more comfortable on a run. Next job is to get it gassed as fuel consumption is about 13 mpg towing and 20 mpg solo.
Rest of the fleet comprises a '90 Saab C900 convertible, a'74 Saab type 95 V4, a '63 Saab type 96 Sport two-stroke bullnose and, tucked away elsewhere, a '68 Alvis Stalwart HMLS aka "little Maud"!

My other vehicles are 2000 vw passat 1.8 20t (not 400bhp.... just 158bhp) lol for my partner, a ford econoline 5ltr v8 dayvan (im selling cheap) a 1999 fiesta courier 1.8d van (and selling this too) a ford pop for restoring (this is going aswell) and then my other pride and joy my sunday driver and race vehicle 1978 jago jeep. 5.1ltr rover v8 370ish bhp with upto 360bhp of nitrous. only used 180bhp of nos and ran 10.8s 1/4 mile 124mph @avon park. and have got the front wheels up vertical. If i can work out how to put pictures up i will try to get a few on the forum. if anyone is intrested..

I wanted a Jago Geep body for what ended up as my Dutton Sierra build... I thought about a Rover V8 (I like 'em - rebuilt several from scratch over the years) or a Ford Granada 2.9 V6 but as I wanted 4X4 I decided the Suzi transmission would just about manage to cope with the 2.0 Carlton lump and not much more. Interested in the pics if you can figure it out...

Do you all meet up any time and go off roading ? or even meet at a certain place ? just looking on the us forum and they look like they go away for weekends over the deserts etc. looks like fun. Where would everyone meet up if there was a get together as it seems everyone is scattered around the uk !

Hi, we're in Grays in Essex running our white 2000 V on an M plate. Had our X since early September, now on 69k,hugely impressed with it, and as economical as the 2.3 Scorpio we ran for two years. Brakes replaced all round so far, but otherwise no mods.

Was ex chief of sussex police' "company car" but fortunately they'd replaced 95% of the interior panels they'd drilled to take their kit, as part of the "decommisioning", and it never had a roof mounted light job!

About to replace the plastic front grille as it still has the one with cut outs either side to take the blue police lights.

What I did notice was the speedo has RS930627 on it, and it's blue, whilst the other instruments are green, and wondered if it was something that was special for the police?

If you see me/us give us a flash (so to speak!!)

Location

I am from Stafford in the Midlands. My truck is unusual, it is an Australian spec XL.
It is RHD and the speedo is in Kilometers, cloth upholstery, manual gearbox (5 speed), 4 litre OHV, no cam chain to worry about! It has all the usual stuff like ABS, air con, cruise control etc but no centre console, just a great big gear lever and hand brake.
The rear bumper has towing capability as well as a tow bar and I have just fitted a front push bar to manouver my caravan.
My rear no. plate is set to left and wheels are alloy, not the chrome ones as per UK spec.
It was manufactured in 1996 but it's spec is second generation ie the same electronic transfer box as british.
Colour is red/silver with Kangaroo graphics on the doors.

Hi :) i am Ray,
I'm at northeast Philadelphia PA.Natively i'm russian, living in the States for almost ten years.I own 94 ex sport 2 door 4wd with the good old 5speed the color of dark burgundy. The first winter after i bought it at the auction (less than $2000 with only 66k ORIGINAL miles on it) i appreciated it to the fullest while driving through the piles of snow at the side streets. My truck has never let me down and has hardly seen any mechanics. The most expensive repair ever made was a clutch a year ago, actually the slave leaked out right around the corner from a shop LOL.
On the outside it's nothing special, but here's my mods:
air intake with an open filter element and a MAF sensor moved all the way next to the throttle body.still thinking of modifying it and turning it the opposite way,to the left side for the reason of the cooler air further away from the engine
JBA ignition wires, bosch platinum 4 spark plugs
JET power chip
upgraded alternator which i got on ebay and they said it's 200 amps
catback exhaust by flowmaster
grille guard with a pair of lights

Thank You

They are Fox RS UV2 8.5" x 20"
Unfortunately needed spacers to fit them properly so they don't rub the anti roll bar
