I broke the plastic shell lock tab off of the coil pack connector (harness side) so I would like to get another shell to replace it.

I realize that I could get one from the junk yard, but I'm afraid that the junk yard one would be just as brittle as my old one due to the heat that it sees sitting on top of the engine.

Anybody ever found a source for the Ford style connectors? Internet supplier?

Thanks

tryed autozone or napa?, or any other parts store for that matter. these these things should be easy to find, there on basically every ford ;) as a last resort, the ford dealer should be able to get them

Do a web search for Motormite parts.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys!

I found a couple of possibilities with Motormite, but the pics are not good enough to tell if it will work for sure. One of the connectors they list for a 4 wire MAF sensor may work.

I will probably try Napa tomorrow when I go to get another coil pack.

As for the dealer, they are usually worthless for stuff like this. I once tried to get a replacement battery terminal at the dealer and the parts guy told me I should go to Pep Boys.

I struck out with the Motormite connectors - Apparently the application (coil pack) is too new to be supported. They do offer some other Ford connectors (alterators, ignition control modules, etc) in a pigtail form to fix harnesses.

I was actually able to get a pigtail harness at the Ford dealer (p/n 82142 repair harness). The bad part was the cost - $22 - ouch

Thanks again for the suggestions.

junk yards. Start collecting them...

:)

Best thing about it is they usually dont charge much if anything at all for a few pigtails...

I have replaced just about every connector on my truck. Everytime I am at the junk yard and see a BII, Ranger, Aerostar, or Explorer with no engine, or just exposed plugs I just cut them off...
Take them home, clean them up, TONS of spares.

The other good thing about this is I can use them for anything, like all my accessories are wired through one 8 pin plug, my roof lights are run through 1 4 pin plug, etc etc....

The watertight plugs they use in cars are great! I think I even have a few Dodge ones in my truck somewhere!!!

The headlight harness, alternator harness, and many of the sensors just get worn out ofver time or metled, nothing like finding out your healight harness is freid when you have a 50 miles drive ahead of you in the snow at night! :)
